The Ford Transit features a standard rear view camera, Safety Canopy® System and available rain-sensing wipers. Side-wind stabilization is also standard while lane-keeping alert is available for confidence on the road. And SYNC® 3 with a 6.5-inch screen is also available to help customers stay connected while on the road. Further details about these tech features can be found below:
  • Rear View Camera: The video image provided by the standard rear view camera (1) helps drivers see what's directly behind the vehicle when the gear selector is in Reverse. The image is transmitted:
  • On the rearview mirror of vehicles with a basic AM/FM radio
  • To the center screen monitor if the vehicle has an upgraded audio system

  • Colored Guidelines: Provide a visual reference to assist drivers with vehicle alignment while backing up
  • (1) Driver assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver's attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle.
  • Safety Canopy System*: Ford Transit Vans come standard with driver and passenger front and side airbags. Some Ford Transit vehicles include a Safety Canopy System with a full-length, side-curtain airbag (2)

  • (2) Always wear your safety belt and secure children in the rear seat.

  • Available Lane-Keeping Alert: The lane-keeping alert (3) warns drivers through a series of steering wheel vibrations should the system detect an unintentional lane departure. Lane departure is detected via a camera mounted behind the windshield that scans road lane markings day or night to determine vehicle position

  • (3) Driver assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver's attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle.

  • Rain-Sensing Wipers*: The available rain-sensing wipers (4) detect the amount of moisture on the windshield and automatically turn on and adjust their speed, keeping the driver's vision clear under all conditions
  • (4) Rain-sensing wipers system must be turned off before entering an automatic car wash.

  • Side-Wind Stabilization: This feature applies the brakes on one side of the vehicle to help reduce the effect of a sudden side wind gust when you are driving, keeping the vehicle upright. When Side-Wind Stabilization is active, the stability and traction control light flashes and a message may appear in the information display. Drivers may experience a slight deceleration, and a steering correction may be needed to maintain the intended vehicle path (5)
  • (5) Side-wind stabilization does not turn on for continuous side winds or during vehicle turns. Remember that even advanced technology cannot overcome the laws of physics. It's always possible to lose control of a vehicle due to inappropriate driver input for the conditions.
